Postcards
Our August Postcard from the Edge comes from Lisa Stratford, a kindergarten teacher in a Waldorf-inspired charter school in Anchorage, Alaska. Lisa is responded to the poem by William Stafford that was at the heart of our July podcast.
This image was created by Sherrill Knezel, who is an artist, educator and graphic recorder. This piece was based upon The Growing Edge Podcast 20: A Conversation About Living With Uncertainty. Sherrill joined us for one of our Growing Edge retreats. We feel in love with Sherrill and with her truly meaningful artform.
From Sherrill Knezel
“As a graphic recorder, I use images and text to capture the heart of your conversations, presentations, keynotes, meetings, and brainstorming sessions. Wherever people are gathered to share ideas, I can help increase engagement, clarity, communication, connection and creativity in your organization. I do this by listening, synthesizing and drawing what is said.”

This month’s Postcard from the Edge comes from Celia Broder, who follows The Growing Edge via our podcasts. She’s a photographic artist whose portfolio takes you to far away places, to cityscapes and the countryside, and to her backyard. It takes the ordinary and moves beyond, slowing the viewer down to listen, to feel, to become part of the moment. For more information about Celia and her wonderful art visit her website: cb-images.com. Instagram: cbimageswanderings.
A Silver Threat - A Reflection By Gracia Valliant
Gracia Valliant is an educator, activist, and beautiful soul from Bloomington Indiana. This poem reflects upon how we are all connected.
December 2019 Postcard From The Edge - Reflection upon Jeanne Lohmann’s “Questions Before Dark” by Gary Walters.
I love the depth of this poem. The beautiful flow from first line to last, and the specific questions Ms Lohmann asks. It’s always a joy to find my way to a satisfying interpretation when reading a poem. With this poem each question provides the opportunity to consider multiple perspectives before answering, so that each of us will find our own way to answer each question……..
In this space we will be featuring writings and reflections from you! But this month we’ll start with one of Carrie’s reflections and the words to a new song featured in our Episode 17: New Year’s Revolutions Podcast.
“On our January Podcast, I play a new song called "On The Day You Were Born." I was pondering a children's book by the same name, and how on the day each one of us was born the wheels of this world, the eternal motion of natural events, opened up just a little bit and welcomed us in. On the day we leave this world, the wheels of eternal motion will open up us a little bit once more, and welcome us again. Life is always beginning. Always... —Carrie”
This month’s postcard from the edge is a reflection on The Growing Edge Podcast “The Curious Promise of Limited Time.” by Author and Filmaker Michael Chatlien His new book “Northern Lights” will be published later this fall.
